Default Neighbors filed a disturbing the peace noitice

I was riding on my land and have a 06 KFX 400 that is all stock including spark arrestor and air box lid. I'm going to court in a couple of weeks and want to get all my home work up to date. What is the sound level of a stock KFX 400 and what does that sound compare too. I don't need someone says it this I need the info or link from a reputable source but can't find any. Something that I can print out and say it is no louder than a lawn mower or something.
Please help a fellow rider out. Thanks Rob

Don't know of any sources for that info online, but I'm sure someone will chime in. At what time were you riding to get a notice for disturbing the peace? Usually there's a community by-law about noise levels after a certain hour, like 10 - 10:30pm and before certain hours, such as perhaps 7am? It may not be as simple as your quad (which as stock I'm sure is quite quiet) making too much noise compared to a lawn mower. It may be the timing of the disturbance. Has your neighbor complained before?

Maybe you should plant a small garden and buy a propane cannon to keep the birds away.......not sure

What kind of noise ordnances are in place where you live?

Maybe it's the dust? Rocks flying? Who knows. How much land do you have at your house? Have any CCR's? I would do my home work on what the complaint is. I think your done for. How much is the fine. I would just pay it and move on. Now because you'r messing around everytime you load up you quads evrybody's going to say your riding again.

If you have any old ATV Magazines, you can go back and look for any Exhaust comparissions on the KFX/Z400. They always show the stock baseline db level.

I live on 5 acres and they live on 2 1/2.
The fine is 637 dollars per ticket and I was issued 2 by 2 different neighbors who are friends. Thats why I'm not going to just pay the tickets.
I'm just nervous about the court date as of now.

You are probably running around 89 to 90 db's. Most states have a much higher leagal limit, usuall in the 96 + range.

How close is their house to where you are riding? (In yards)

At what times of days were the complaints made?

What times of the day do you usually ride at home?

How much do you ride at home?

Do you know when they are usually at home?

Have you made any attempts to contact them to ask them how you could address this problem to their satisfaction?
