Default 2001 Kawasaki Bayou 220 maintenence help

I have a question, & I know this sounds stupid. I purchased this for my son. There was a leak, which I was under the assumption that this was a transmission leak. We tore it apart, fixed the problem , and when we put it back together, I put what I thought was the transmission fluid back in and the oil glass fill indicator moved to full. When I got this, the man I got it from told me it took oil and transmission fluid. I call a local Kawasaki dealer and was told that this only took motor oil! Now I'm confused! Can anyone help?

It only takes oil. No Transmission Fluid!! It uses the same oil the engine uses. I think it's 10w40, not 100% sure on the weight.
