Default KFX700

Hey all....just a question for all you kawi gurus...I currently have a Z400 and I'm 43 years old . My family and I ride a good bit and I'm starting to loose interest in the Z because it tends to pound me a little more each time and im not getting any younger!! I'm lookin for the ease of an auto but still aint ready to give up on blasting around the trails from time to time. I am 6-1 and 235lbs. Would the KFX700 be agood substitute for me, be a little better riding machine, and be able to be moded alittle for times that I want to blast?? Crazy question..but I"m stewing on the decision...thanks for any input!!

Sounds good for your situation, im not a big fan of the 700s, but they are still pretty quick

I have a '04 KFX700 as well and it could be a perfect ride for you. Yes, definitely it would feel chunky and hefty when are coming from 400, but if you want easy fast riding w/o shifting and want tons of bottom end torque and seamless power curve, this is it for you.

If you are a trail rider, the 700 is the quad for you. Because of the shaft drive, you have more ground clearance. Plus with the auto, you are always in the right gear.

As far as power goes, the sky is the limit. It's fun when you come across someone that doesn't know what the V is capable of.

The KFX700 is a great over all machine...you can ride about any style, sand, trail, GNCC, MX and it does them all well...There are machines that are better at one or another style but none can do them all as well as the KFX700...very high on the fun factor.

Your situation sounds perfect for the KFX700.. Once you get used to the extra bulk you can just lay back and let the power take over...Great all around good bike......In stock form it's relatively sluggish... But the potential is huge; not sure where to begin with the mods...Just like any engine more fuel and air & cc's always helps.... Start with the clutch; if you get into the motor might as well add cc's while you change out your cams (Crower Power 254 degree)...Then CDI box;dual exhaust, filter, new carb (empi 44mm dual down draft)...... And there you go your ready to take on almost anything coming at you.... Don't forget to change out the stock shocks (Works shocks work great and their affordable)....Here's the fun part, you'll be the only one in your group who could actually tow back a broken F-150.......58hp to the tires.....Have fun and ride safe...

Or you can put a rekluse auto clutch on your 400 and have easier fun. (not as heavy as a 700) Then you wont have to worry about getting used to the behemoth. Plus think if you get stuck on the 700 by yourself, have fun picking that heavy thing up! The 400 you can just toss out the mud and keep goin. I was in the same situation as you not long ago, I went with the 400....no regrets.
