What are the replacement options for a mojave? The rear shock absorber is shot, and I will replace the front 2 at the same time. I have seen several used ones on Ebay, but I have never heard of a new replacement.

worksperformance use to makes some for mojaves and lakota's...but if they dont im sure u can call around to some local quad dirtbike shops and they could get a hold of something for ya...there pretty pricey i8 do have to say...u can also get a used honda 250r shock for the rear all u have to do is drill it out alittle where the bushings go so it will fit in nice and tight...cheaper that way than gettin all new ones but also if your willing to put alittle work into it...elka use to makes some shocks for the mojave to but u probably dont even want to know how much they go for not sure if they make em either anymore...its gonna be harder to find parts for these 2 quads mojaves and lakotas being how they stop making them so aftermarket compaines arent gonna make parts for quad they stop making bc no ones really gonna buy it so they wont be making any $$$...kinda sucks but thats how this world operates right...but def keep an eye on ebay im sure there will be things poping up...

Explain because I'm ignorant... does it have to be a used 250r shock? Is there a difference between new and used or is used all there is? I'm all for cheap, and I dont mind making stuff "fit".

used is all there is...they stopped making 250r's late 80's early 90's but if u can find a new one let me know haha...but that the only place your probably gonna find one is on ebay or if someone is parting that kind of quad out...theres always a ton of parts from these quad b/c they use to be the number one track quad and everyone was running them...

Im doing a mojave myself, I found a set of works on E bay for 125, you gotta look for em, for teh rear I have been reading that a TRX250r shock will work but you have to mad the swingarm and the shock will need some servicing to work well, I was working with Todd at TCS we want to try to use a raptor shock, they can be serviced internally to fit the mojave and shimmed up to fit the swing arm without cutting, we did this mod also for a blaster and has worked VERY well!

Yes- a 250R rear shock will work- I did this and the tabs for the shock bottom on the swinarm need to be ground off and upper and lower bolt holes enlarged. Makes a world of difference. BTW- will the Mojave/ Lakota Plastics fit the 30 Bayou or Prairie........
