Brute Force (sra) overheating

Ok guys
I am running a 05 bf sra, Today I went out with some friends on a dcnr trail called bloody skillet about a half hour into the ride my temp light started to blink. After a cool down and checking fluid levels we carried on and 10 min later the temp light was on again we decide to wrap up the day early and I limped back to the parking lot. Once I got back home I took a hose to the coils to make sure they are clear the fan is working properly and went out on a short ride behind my home and about 10-15in my temp light was on again. I am a little lost as to what could be causing the over heat, I had one other overheat about 2 weeks ago towing a Griz 660 with a 300lbs rider on it but I contrubited the over heat to the heavy load.
Any ideas, the fan is running the coils are clear and the fluids are toped off. The only thing I have not done is flush the coolant. So if any one can point me in the right direction would be great because I am really not trying to pay the local atv dealer there 60 dollar a hour labor charge for something simple.

LOL thanks for all the useful and helpful tips to solve my problem. Turns out it was the coils I removed the front coverings to look at the back of the radiator was completely caked with mud 2min of hosing and a hard test ride later and every thing is back in order.

no problem Man, anytime you ride your kawi in mud or dirty water, wash it out. No pressure washers, garden hose from the motor side out towards the front. Poker runs are bad because a lot of bikes run through the same holes and the water becomes a silt in your rad. Heat from your rad bakes the silt and you have a solid crap in your rad. Highlifter sells a portable pressure washer for your rad. You can use it any water source with your 12v acc. plug
