Default belt light reset fix this??

hello I have Quite the interesting problem, any advice would be great.
I have a 05 brute force, belt light came on so i figured i would check the belt before resetting , all i did was pull the belt cover checked it and put it back on now the belt light is flashing, and the bike acts like it is on the rev limiter all the time. I have heard a little about limp mode? is this it? will resetting the belt light procedure cure this? I don't want to cause any more damage. anyone have a suggestion or opinion. thanks

Ha Ha I did that same thing today.

If you did the same thing I did then you fliped the switch inside the cover while you had it off & your gonna have to take it back off and put it back to how it was.

Then do the computer rest procedure exactly as outlines on pages 17/70 and 17/71 of the service manual.

Welcome to the 150 hour check your belt light

Good luck
