Hard Shifting - 2001 Bayou 300
#1
I recently bought a 2001 Bayou 300 2x4. While it starts and runs fine, it is hard to shift into higher gears, frequently requiring two or more lifts with my foot. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Jim

Check/adjust:
1). Clucth adjustment screw (under the black cover on the right side).
2). Detet spring (stretch it)
3). Shift shaft for burrs or bending.
Also, try to shift when RPM is about to come down as you close the throttle. Don't try to shift while accelerating (throttle open). Meaning that you should not open the throttle while shifting.
