If you think your controller is OK, then the problem could be the 2/4WD engagement actuator on your front gear box. Apply 12VDC directly to the actuator motor and see if it turns. Also, count the cycle time of the flashing. When 2/WD light is flashing - 2WD>4WD>2WD, how long does it take for 2WD light to flash again?
1 sec - 2/4WD actuator is bad.
2 sec - EB actuator is bad
4 sec - controller or others.

If 2/4WD and Engine Brake systems work fine but the light is still flashing, then it is just an electronic glitch which can be easily reset either by removing one of the battery terminals (+ or -) or replugging the Controller (single connector black box) connector under the seat. Don't know about using Yammy's tie rod but you can measure and compare.

But the original poster has 4wd engagement problem, not the engine brake. Removing the EBC motor from the quad would not fix his 4WD problem.

bad750,
No, you don't have the same problem as the original poster does. His does NOT egnage to 4WD. Yours does you say. Yes, you have the same 2/4WD flashing light on the meter but it would be flashing at different interval (cycle time) meaning different problem.
Try this. Lift up the seat and look for a small black plastic covered fuse box. Open it and you will see somehting like EBC fuse 10-amp. Take the fuse out and twist the blades just a bit so it would give a tighter fit. Then apply white lithium or di-electric grease at the contact area. See if this would cure the problem. If not, you may need a new controller.
