02 650 backfiring
#1
I have an 2002 650 that started backfiring after letting off on the throttle. A few minutes later it will blow oil everywhere,so much that I can't find the source. Would anyone know why ? Would it be pressure from the valves being to tight?

Backfiring
I assume the sound is from the exhaust. If so, check for exhaust leak in the exhaust system. Also, you might have little too rich carburetion, the unburned fuel is combusting in the exhaust system.
Blowing Oil
Open the air box cover and see if any oil residue is found inside. Clean up. Check oil level and for any sign of fuel dilution.
Tight valves usally cause hard starting, rough idling, stalling, etc - running issues. But it doesn't hurt to check/adjust the valve clearance if it's not done within last 50 hrs of running time.
