Default Gas vapor exiting carb

I have an 87 mojave 250.. ( i think) Its white with a blue seat.. Anyhow, i retimed it because the kid had it way off.. I adjusted the valves so that the intake had 8 thousandths and the exhaust has 10 thousandths. When I start the quad it runs however it shoots mixed gas vapor out of the intake side of the exhaust.. Is the intake timing off? I lined up the "T" and put the intake and exhaust cam marks outward level with the head on the correct stroke. It will run like this untill i put a load on the engine IE put it in gear and drive. I replaced the spark plug, cleaned the carb etc.

**Actually i timed it so that the marks both pointed foreward on the correct stroke.

It turns out that it jumped time.. I put it back and it ran good for the first time in a long time... Then I came back and oil was all over the place, turns out the kid before me didnt do the best gasket job on the jug and head.. So now I have to dissasemble the engine.. What a snotty bike btw....
