When I turn the key to the on position the check belt light comes on. When i start the bike and get it warmed up the bike takes off by itself. It only does this occasionally. Some days ill start up the bike with no lights and it will run fine. Now the light stays on all the time. I tried to reset the light as per instructions on this forum with no luck. Does the black box on the drive belt cover have something to do with it? Which way is the pin supposed to go inside of the cover? In the ON or OFF position? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Is the belt light STEADY ON or FLASHING?
When the belt light is on, does the ATV run OK or not?
The toggle switch pin should be at ON position inside the CVT cover.
If the ATV takes off by itself, eithe the idle rpm is too high and/or the engine brake is actuating when it is not supposed to.

I bet the actuator which is the thing on top of the belt cover is acting up. Mine was and here is what i did. Take the belt cover off and right under that black actuator is a spring like thing. On the bottom of is is a small cir clip. Take that off and the sprng (actuator fork) will slide out. put belt cover back on and the bike should pull anymore. I like my atv better without that dumb actuator hooked up. Try it, its easy

if the machine is moving sometimes, you need to check the belt...

if you need the reset procedure, go to highlifter forums, then go to kawasaki forum, there is a sticky on top about things to know and inside that sticky is the reset procedures
