[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] my kfx just started to stop starting the battery is new and good,connections are good, ive got fuel, its cranks over but it just wont start. but it starts when its been warmed up? what could this be?

 

Check your valves..................

 

The intake valve has probably tightened up, and doesnt close completely. This leads to a big frop in compression, and a difficult to start motor when cold.

 

Since it starts when engine is warmed up but not when cold, I would also check choke/carburetion area.

 

i had 295 size skim in and went to a 290 and it still wont start. should i go smaller?

 

i checked the carb and cleaned it out good and the choke seems to work fine could it be my CDI?

 

i had a problem with my kfx not starting the battery went bad and had to replace the plugs then it started fine.

 

When you adjust the valves, go by the clearance, which is checked with a shim. Then youll know what the proper shim will be.
