400 PRAIRE DRIVE CONVERTER
#1
I JUST BOUGHT A KAWASAKI PRAIRE 400, I THINK IT IS A 2000- AND IT RUNS GOOD BUT DOESN'T MOVE VERY WELL. I WAS WONDERING WHAT TO REBUILD OR REPLACE? DO I NEED A CLUTCH KIT OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE?

I think it might be more than that, the clutch clanks and rattles alot. I have the cover off and the belt looks fine. The front snorkle has a hole in it, so I think it got some junk in it. THANKS

If it makes such noise, then the wear buttons on the drive converter are worn out, and/or the bushing is worn out at the shaft. Remove the belt/drive converter from the crank and run the engine on the stand. If no noise, then it is the converter.
