Default Brute locker issue

a buddy of mine have a 750 brute and I don't think the locker has ever worked right. He talked to some people and they told him he needed to adjust the cable and we have adjusted it every way possible still with no luck. When the bike was two weeks old he shifted in 4wd and blew a big hole in the front end took it to the shop and they warrantied it. I'm just wondering if somethings wasn't put back in right at the dealer?.?.? if anybody has any info or ideas on this i'd appreciate it. The popo 800HO is gettin tired of pullin his stuck a$$ out of the mud. Thanks guys

When the repair was made on the front end, was it repaired or replaced (new gear box)? If someone assembled the gear box back by piece by piece, I would say something was not done right such as improperly installed friction plates or something. Should go back to the dealer.

Thats what I said too. The whole dealer thing ended up being a big ordeal took like 12 weeks to fix it and now its way out of warranty and there saying it doesn't have anything to do with the repair. Next question does anyone that you know of make a aftermarket locker for the brute. I would think they do seeing how it has one factory. And also and thing I could look for in the front end to see if the friction plates were installed wrong we've had it apart two or three times and it looks like everything is right but I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks

It would be best if you get a factory manual or download the parts diagram and make sure all the parts are assembled in correct order. Buying a aftermarket locker would cost too much $$ even if there is one (not likely). Take dealer to a small claims court since the problem started right after they worked on it.

Too bad you can't just pop the cover off and weld the spider gears like on a regular pick up truck.
