Fan trouble
#1
I have a Yamaha Kodiak 450 2007. I only haul logs in a trailer with it for firewood.
I was hauling some wood when i noticed my overheat light went on. Then i realized the fan wasnt turning on. I put it away and a couple days later took it out again. I checked for sticks in the fan and found nothing. Whats my next step to troubleshoot this problem?

Find the sensor that turns the fan on. I have a kfx400 and it's in the radiator down below the temp light switch. Unplug the sensor and jump the wires and see if the fan comes on with the ignition on. If it does it'll need the sensor. If not check the power on the fan. If there's power check the ground off the fan to the temp. sensor to see if it's broke. BUT if it's under a factory warranty better to let them fix it.
