Comparing to the brutes previous years is one thing.....Compare it the the 08 750 is another</end quote></div>

I haven't gotten the chance to check out an 08 brute yet. I know there is definately room for improvement over the 05 model my brother has, so I'm glad to hear they are updating it.

I didn't really want the Polaris when I pulled the trigger and bought it. The price, and financing option that Polaris offered was just too much better than anything else. I saved a ton of money over buying any other quad that was in the same league. Don't get me wrong, I like the Polaris. It's actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be after reading all those ATV magazine articles. In the real world, I can line it up next to about any stock ATV, and hang right with it up to around 25-30 mph. But at 30 mph, it's done pretending that it's fast. The brute force isn't. If Kawi got off their duffs and made that brute handle good, and fixed some of the 4wd issues, then it would definately be a killer ride in my books.

Ive seent he 800 in the mud, its still a dog.....There is no comparison between the kawi and the polaris. Especially with the new 08 750</end quote></div>

What do you mean a dog in the mud? The 800 will turn bigger tires better then the brute because of the gearing. Slap some 29.5's on a stock 800 and a stock 750 brute and see which one turns them better. Name 4 or 5 things the brute has thats better than the 800?</end quote></div>

Just keep believing Polaris is best and Santa is real. Polaris is the most trashed talked ATV out there. #1 most rounded ATV out is Yamaha 700 now. Kawie is not #1, but diffidently better then a Polaris.

OK would you like to explain? What does the Kawi have over the Polaris besides a little more speed?

Be a little more specific besides saying everything. I only asked for 4 or 5 things. Surely since the kawi's are so much better you could probably list 8 to 10 things.

I go this route

Polaris:
+ ride on rough terrain only (Honda owners will argue there is as good or better)
+ pulling (I believe it is #1 here)
- weight (heaviest in class)
- reliability (worse in class)
- looks (still late 90's look)
- fast trail riding (to heavy and big to maneuver on tight trails...likes to plow)
- speed (probably because 200lbs heavier then other machines. If lost weight, be even)
even on 4 wheel drive system...both have + and -

I think biggest advantage in any ATV is a good dealer that takes care of you.. All ATV's break sooner or later and a bad dealer will ream you. Good dealer will help and take care of you.

I do not count stock tires (Polaris would win) because nobody keeps the stock tires or the ground clearance because relative to new tire size. You can modify height easily, but you can't update the looks or reliability. They are what they are.

I go this route

Polaris:
+ ride
+ pulling (#1)
+ Ground clearance (11.25")
+ weight (heaviest in class) better for towing and hauling and working
+ reliability (I know of many Polaris's over 10,000 miles and still going with only regular maintenance) maintenance is the key with any atv.
+ looks (thats just an opinion it can go ethier way)
+ fast trail riding (This has a lot to do with the rider and machine) I am able to ride fast on trails because I know my machine.
- speed (I've topped out my STOCK Polaris out around 70mph which is plenty of speed) I know there faster machines stock
+ 4 wheel drive system (true 4wd with a flip of the switch. No stopping to have to lock it in.)

08 brute:
- ride (better than the previous years but still not as good as the Polaris)
- pulling (1250 vs. Polaris's 1500)
- Ground clearence (9.7")
+ weight (better for racing and fast trail riding)
+ reliability (most all of the big manufactures have good reliability) again maintenance is the key
+ looks (thats just an opinion it can go ethier way)
+ fast trail riding
+ speed
- 4 wheel drive system (still not as good as the Polaris)

Do you personally use your machine for hauling and working? I dont know anyone that would haul over a thousand pounds on there wheeler anyways. The polaris might have better specs for working but thats not what I use my machine for. If we are talking about trail riding performance there is still no comparison. If I wanted more ground clearance and to go slow I would have bought a tractor.

Sure do, I use my Polaris on the farm and over at our garage to pull vehicles around. I use my machine for everything you can think of and it does everything very well. My Polaris will out pull, out haul & out run that brute you got so you ain't got nothing on me. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
