FI Warning Light
#1
While riding last week, my FI (fuel injection) warning light came on. I also noticed that my coolant was completely empty. It appears that this light can be activated when the sensor that activates the fan goes bad. Regardless, the shop says the sensor is bad and they need to order a new one. Could put me out for riding this weekend.
Anyone have this light come on?

Like the 'Check Engine' Light (MIL) on a car, the FI indicator lights for malfunctions of several sensors. How did your coolant go empty? Because the fan failed to energize? I have the same model / year / color you have. After getting it home the first time, I found a wire going to the cooling fan circuit breaker (under the seat) was disconnected. It was not totally obvious. I talked to the tech that pre-inspected the quad, and he said he would not look for something like that. Perhaps a common problem at the factory?

wehn i got my bike there was one wire off the curcuit breaker too. The coolant light and the FI light went off. no trobles since then untill last weekend. one of the prongs on the breaker broke off and the fan wouldnt gome on about 4 hours back in the woods. i stripped the 2 wires twised them together and used the only thing we had to cover the bare wire....band-aids.
