Default Bayou 185 carb help

I have an old bayou 185 that I've had for a year...always rean great...then one day I smelled gas...looked under the quad and there was gas leaking out of the overflow hose (always forgot to turn the petcock off)...what do I need to clean to fix this? Also, I don't have a manual, and haven't really been around atv's much, so some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I've heard this atv has reverse, and the "switch" is on the engine...is this true?

Default Bayou 185 carb help

Theres a float needle and seat, which the float controls. If you take the float bowl off, it becomes self explanitory. Theres probably rust or crud, in the needle seat area, which prevents them, from sealing and shutting off the flow of gas. Use carb cleaner and q tips to clean it good, and it should work again.
If you find lots of crud in the float bowl, you might want to add an inline fuel filter to stop the crud from getting to the float bowl again.
Check the oil too. Sometimes when the carb overflows like that, the gas also gets to the crankcase. If you smeel gas on the dipstick, or the oil lever got higher than the last time you checked it, then do an oil change.
