I bought my son a Bayou 300 4x4, don't know what year, from a friend of mine for $400. It was runningwhen I bought it, we just need to put a little time into it. The carb is leaking gas into the air filter, and three wire were cut that I have to figure out where they go. They are three yellow wires that was running between the breather box and the frame. My buddy said he found that they were melted together, so he cranked it up and started cutting. They ran into a plastic plug, he said it kept running so he left it alone. Now it the battery won't charge, so I have to figure out where each wire goes. I guess I'm gonna buy a book off ebay and try to figure it all out. Will one of those books help me with the problems we have? Thanks for any help.

On those quads, the 3 yellow wires usually run between the stator (generator) and the voltage regulator/rectifier. You, at least, need a wiring diagram to figure it out.
