Yah if I were buying a brand new quad, I'd definitely go with the KFX, from what I've seen, it looks like the best choice out of the 450s, I've been hearing alot of people complaining about the hard seat, but real riders rarely sit when out riding, unless you drive a ute

Gratz on the new quad masterp0606
I love mine...
But the kfx is the MOST corked up quad from the factory atm, & is also 1 of the lowest geard, A PCIII, plug out of can, ehs lid, & a 15 tooth front or a 34/36 rear sprocket will make a huge Improvement over stock...
But if you are looking for big gains, bolt on the "BIG 3", & see 7/10 hp gains...
Also If you just picked 1 up, check to see it's birth date, The new one's have a softer seat, so the rummor is.....
GL w/ the new ride & welcome to the forum's...

that's what dirt wheels was saying in the 450 shootout. They said with a few mods, it was a a good choice.
I would love to get a new kfx, and have been eye'n them up at the dealers since they came out, but with that price tag.....i will wait for a few years. In the mean time, I'm in the process of buying a 400.
anyone ever saw or heard of a kfx400 vs kfx450? that would be interesting stock vs stock.

Do not let the FI decide for you. The same "carburetor" 450 motor in the 2008 KX450 motocross bike is the fastest in a 450 motorcross shootout
The RM450 was the only EFI bike in the test and it came dead last.
Kawasaki then takes the same winning motor and puts FI on it for there sport 450 ATV and what happens? Its no longer top dog in power delivery.

it just blows my mind that kfx450 has a choke on it with EFI. Do these things still have mechanical fuel pumps on it or something?
(sorry if that's a stupid question, I honestly have no idea when it comes to EFI motors, let alone atv efi. I would assume that electric pumps would solve that problem of getting gas there. I honestly don't even know if atv's have pumps or not or if it's ran from a vacuum.)

Yeah the 450 is a sweet looking machine with what it comes with from the factory, the local dealer has the black one sitting on the floor, across from the DS450. Looks like if you un-cork it from the factory, it would be an awesome woods machine. Love to have one, but that $7k+ plus a few mods is hard to pull the string on right now.
