CDI box or power Module for 650 Prairie
#1
I have a 650 prairie that I am thinking about adding a high performance CDI box or one these Plug in power modules. But I really don't know the difference and I was wondering which one that anyone would recommend, if either. Thanks

Well let me first say I have neither. But it Is my understading they are all "plug and play". The Moose module only advances the timing from the lower RPM's/start where as the Dyna CDI advances the timing throught the RPM curve. Hope someone else can help you out better.

Don't even mess with the module, they are only good for one thing, drag racing. Get the CDI, more power throughout the RPM range, more top end, and the motor runs cooler, plus you don't have to cut wires. The CDI is well worth the extra money compared to the module.

What happens if you put on both or is that possible? I have talked to some guys that bought the module and they say it works great but for only low end, like you said.

You can put both on if you like, but you will not gain anything. Beleive me the CDi is the way to go. The module only tricks the speed sensor into thinking you are going faster than you actually are, thereby giving you the optimal timing curve, which increases the lowend power. The CDI alone is like turning your 650 into a 700, and it starts better and runs cooler.
