05 kfx 400 rear axle play

05 kfx 400 rear axle play
when i put my kaw on the jack stand today i noticed play in the axle, the axle houseing bolt is tightened properly as is the lock nut but there is still play
i jacked up my wifes honda trx ex300 and there is no play
anybody know if there is supposed to be play
it seems to be about a 16th of an inch if that
