Just bought this bike and wondering how these atv are. it has less then 500 miles on it and seems to work good. How do i know if i have the chock off, is it when the lever is toward the handel grip or towards the spedeo?

 

Just wanted to know how the all time 4 wheel drive is. My polaris sportsman was unpredictable and was not the best 4 wheel drive set up. Also how are these motors i dont know alot about kawasaki?

 

I have a prairie 300 full time wd, so im guessing they could be both similar in some ways. The 4wd works good on mine and i thought it was true 4wd but is limited slip, yours may be the same way, im gettin a different front drive shaft so i can take it out of 4wd. If your bike runs good and everything works ok and keep it maintained u should not have any problems. The motors seem to be built pretty strong, mine is 8 yrs old and its still runs like its brand new..

 

Do you know what position the choke lever should be in for it to be off is it towards the middle of the handel bar or towards the handel grip? I need to find a owners manual somewhere or download one. I would also like to know more about this different front drive shaft, as it would be nice to take it out of 4 wheel drive.

 

I found the owners manual in the little cubby at the back. I love this compared to my polaris 400 sportsman it does not ride as nice, but sure goes through alot more.

 

The choke is off when it is towards the speedo.

 

Ya i figured it was towards the spedeo thanks. I am really happy with this 4x4. It is not the fastest but it great for what i need.

 

I had a 2002 300 KVF (Prairie 300 4x4) for years, I really liked it. I miss it in a lot of ways.
I sold it last year and now had to buy a Rancher to replace it.

It was completely reliable and trouble free for 5 years. All I ever did was oil and plugs. The 4WD was limited-slip, but always worked great.

If it was reasonably cared for it should be great. A little underpowered but a great machine.
