is this a good deal

 

with all that stuff on it ide say the owner probably dogged the s**t out of it. but mabye not. i know if im gonna put all of that into a quad im gonna run it pretty hard. but as long as the engine dont knock and it runs smooth then its not a bad deal. seeing how theres alot of money in it. just be careful about it.

if its a teenager selling it. DONT BUY IT. im 18 years old and i know how rough we are on them.

 

Even if it was a teenager for $2500 with all the extras if the motor runs smooth then buy it. Check the frame for cracks...I think the 03's had some weak points on the frame. make sure you check the oil and everything. make sure the axle isnt bent and check the frame to make sure it hasnt been wrecked and bent. Im saying check everything you can

So if it's in nice shape with the other addons it sound like a good price. I have a '06 at the shop and I want $3900 for it so $2500 for a '03 with some goodies doesn't sound bad

 

I would say go for it if it's clean, and has no major flaws. Def make the seller let you ride it. If he doesn't, don't buy it.

Like the above mentioned, it doesn't sound like a bad deal, but just check everything out. EVERYTHING!!! specially the filter under the seat, if it's actually clean with all of those mods, then he took care of it.

I'm curious why he would trade for an 04' though. Why would someone who has an 04' trade him for an 03'? lol

 

He probably thinks that a hopped up '03 is a good trade for a stock '04

 

who knows...but hopefully people do their research properly.

How's that Lakota of yours? You ever race any other 300's or 250's with it? I've never really heard to much about Kawi's other sport quads.

I've always wanted to get a Lakota swing arm and paint it, and throw it on the ol' Mojave.

 

The main spot to check would be the the frame near the upper shock mount for the front shocks. That's where they were having some problems in '03. Like everyone else mentioned, if its clean and appears to be well maintained then I'd offer him $2200 and go from there. He can't expect to get too much for all the add ons IMO. Like syripdawg said, if the frame looks good and the oil and airfilter/airbox look clean along with a smooth running motor and no major flaws elsewhere then I say go for it.
