I would really apreciate if anyone can help me with this, I have a 2004 AC 650 I recently put a new belt on and it started slipping after 100 miles I got a lot of belt "lint" in the breather tube so I just replaced the belt with a new one ond took the 2 remaing shims out. The belt is a lot tighter but still squeels under load. and slips on a hard start, then "clunks" and catches. I have a dalton clutch kit in the dive clutch with about 3000 miles on it. Is there any way to tighten the belt once all of the shims are out??
Thanks in advance.

> No more tightening of the belt, once all the shims are out from the driven pulley.
> You did not mention which brand belt you used. If it's not the OEM, I would try OEM.
> What's the belt deflection amount with 13 lbs of force applied at the center of the belt?
> Aftermarket clutch kit will give you quicker acceleration at the cost of accelerated wear and tear of CVT components. If the OEM belt still shows the problem, you need to check/replace the pulley sheaves.

Thanks so much for the help, It is an OEM belt and i did not measure the deflection after I installed it as I assumed there was not much point with no more adjustment capabilites. You mentioned the sheaths may be able to be repaired? how is that done? I plan on taking the clutch cover off after work today what should I look for on the sheaths?
Thanks again!! much apreciated

Sorry there is no proven repair method for worn out/damaged sheaves. I said you should check. Lay down a straight edge perpendicular to the radius of the pulley sheave (meaning one end of edge pointing the center and the other end pointing outward), see if you can see any gap/clearance between the edge and the sheave surface. There should be NONE. You need to measure both fixed and movable sheave per pulley.
