Piping my 650i
#1
looking at the hmf pipe's with the removable tip on them.
Will this require re-jetting? is there a better pipe to get in that price range. I like the grunt of those pipes and I am looking for a little more umph, but not to much that I want to go change clutch springs...
thanks for help/info.

Yes you should rejet and thats a good pipe for the money, there are a ton of them on ebay. My step-son has one on his 650 Brute and it sounds really good. They are a little loud but not unbearable

first poster is spot on - just put penland pro full system on my prairie 650 with jets provided with the hmf exhaust. great performance and completely stopped the backfiring i was having when slowing down with the previous DG Performance exhaust with no jet changes.

You have to jet it for sure. A buddy of mine put a hmf on a 750 brute and didn't jet it at first. We went riding that night and it was blowing a blue flame out the muffler. Within 10 min of riding the header pipes were glowing red. After he jetted it the problem was solved. The hmf flows too good to leave the stock jets in there and it'll run lean.
