It may be possible to do it that way but it's easier to just drop the rear end out of it. The oil you see in there could be coming from the seal where the shaft come out of the motor or it could be rear end fluid coming from your chunk. There is not supposed to be any fluid in there.

There is a seal where the shaft comes out of the motor and rear end. That seal should keep all the oil in the motor or rear end. Where the swaybar pivots on the frame there are caps. Pop the caps off and there are big allen bolts in there you have to take out. Once you disconnect the shocks, rear end breather hose, break lines and take those bolts out the rear end will fall out. The U joint on the driveshaft will just slide off the shaft that comes out of the motor.

Yes, once you drop the rear end the drive shaft will just slide off the shaft. Then it'll just pull out of the rear end. There is a spring on the rear end side that has to go back in though.

That's right. You may not have to take anything loose except the two allen bolts. You may be able to pull it back far enough.

The drive shaft will slide off the motor side. It also slides off the rear end side as well. There is a spring on the rear end side that holds to tension on the shaft so it don't slide off the motor side while riding. If you pull the shaft all the way out make sure you slide the spring back on before you put it in the rear end.
