Default Knock at lower rpms

I have a 97 bayou 300 and it idles fine, but as soon as put it under a load it starts to knock. However it knocks only at lower rpms as soon as you gain a little speed the knock stops. I added some oil the other day. It was castrol 4-stroke motorcycle oil would this have anything to do with the knock? Is there a specific type of oil for atvs?

Thanks for all your help.

I dont know for sure, but I would check your valve springs to make sure they arent worn out, valve clearance, and the timing chain tensioner. That type of oil should work fine, but there are specific oils for atvs. Mostly, just dont use car oil. Also you should be able to use yamalube, honda oil, or polaris P4 oil just fine if there is a dealer near you and you want to use a higher end oil.
