Bayou 220 problems (please help)
#1
My Bayou 220 electric start won't work, when it just worked 2 days ago. I think mayb the starter motor may be bad, but how do i tell? and mayb the relay assembly? give me some tips to try please, to either find out if they are bad, or if there is a common fix. thank you!!!

I already posted the answer to this issue before but here it goes again.
It is ground wire that runs from the starter solenoid to the left side frame. The wire connection to the "painted" frame is the problem causing intermittent connection. Sand/file down the paint and reconnect the connector to the bare metal frame and cover it up with di-electric grease to prevent rusting. Do a search to find my previous post for more detail.

atv repair center told me they put a hot wire from the battery to the nut on the starter to see if stater turns over. Mine did not they wanted $300.00 for a new starter and labor. found one for $84.00 on ebay and did myself took about 1 1/2hours. you have to remeve exhaust pipe and slide it out of the way and remove oil line to the top of cylinder head and the cross over line to the left side of engine. be carefull not to over tighten oil lines when replacing them . take note of copper washers on the oil lines, this makes the seal when engine is running. good luck
