I've noticed the fan will kick on when we putt putt around. it bothered me at first but the light never came on and the fan is doing what it's supposed to do. When we would go faster, everything was fine. So just go really fast all the time. JK
I've heard of ice and some people say it drops the temps but I'm old school and don't believe in additives. Who knows what that stuff will do to the new cooling systems and if there was a problem, who would you go back to, "ice"? good luck with that
I would believe more in the full synthetic oil and try that first. Mobil 1 is put in high end sports cars from the factory and they did some serious testing first. I bet your engine would run longer and cooler. JMO

Let us know if you try the ice and if it worked for you.

As far as oil goes I run Red Line in everything I own and have been really happy with it. Should check out their web site. They also make a antifreeze attative called water wetter. I first started using it in my snowmobiles when the temp light kept comming on one of my sleds. Used it and the light never came back on again. A friend of mine used it in his dirt bike and swears it runs 20 degrees cooler than before.

Just curious; how does your friend know his bike runs 20 degrees cooler?

He used a hand held temp guage. The one you can just aim at something and pull the trigger and it will tell you the temp.

the additives really work. They are very popular in the turbocharged scene...like srt4's (i just bought one woo wooo!!). anyhow they're both internal combustion engines so i would assume it workson our quads.

I like the Pro-Armor nerfs, they have worked well for me in the past. Full synthetic on teh oil and like noted above, the rear end oil is special stuff...don't just drop anything in there or it will screw up your rear brake.

Another thing I use to keep it cool is an oil cooler.
