you have a 650 already.... why get another?

Get somthing different, even if its the 750, or another quad alltogather

FI does NOT mean more power and more fuel economy automatically

Carbs can be tuned, FI can be remapped.. all things being equal on the same engine, it could go either way

FI is more complicated, more stuff to break , way less servicable by the owner, and costs alot more to fix

you have two lumbering utilities already why not get somthing a bit lighter and tighter?

 

No kidding, why not try something else? I wouldn't get 2 of the same/similar quads, whats the fun in that? Especially if you have a 650i, altho if it is a 650sra, then a 750i FI would a nice improvement in certain ways...and not in others.

FI doesn't mean more power, it means smoother power(usually) and improved thottle response(sometimes). But it really differs from quad to quad, every mfg has a different way to implement their EFI. I have read from a Brute 750 owner(of several different model years) that the new EFI Brute is better on fuel than the old carb Brutes, however another owner stated that it is still worse on fuel than say, a King or Outlander...of course rip on the throttle on any big bore, regardless of displacement, efi/carb, twin/single and it will suck back the gas...

 

In my opion the efi 08 has a smoother power band and quicker acceleration over my 05 untill I did some go fast mods to it. if you leave it stock the 08 750 is a really good choice the 650i is a great bike as well I personally get sick of jetting my brute whenever I need to do something as we all know jetting the brute is no fun

 

Wow. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. As it stands, we have decided to wait and just keep the two we have for now. We were thinking of trading the 360 up for a larger model to go with the 650. The wife thought she needed a bigger model than the 360 (she rides my 650 every time she gets a chance)

As fas ar switching to a different ATV altogether, we have had so little trouble wiht the two we have, we didn't even consider going away from Kawasaki. And since ours are not used to race or anything else, we saw no reason to look for a different style of ATV. We use them solely to ride on the mountain trails on our own land, for hunting that land, and occasionally to ride at Portsmouth Island.

 

I have them both 650 and 750 I don't see the difference. Depends very much on the condition of the quad, mileage, and SIZE of the tires. If you check the factory specs, it is only 3 HP difference. 47HP vs 50. I wouldn't spend the extra buck for only this much. Also I like carburetor
better. Less stuff to go wrong. In Conclusion, I prefer the 650.

 

Kinda off topic but my dad has a 750 however when he purchased it the original engine was in a box it had a replacement engine in it which he later realized was a 650. He rebuilt the original engine and swapped them out then he rebuilt the 650. Now he is looking for a frame and body or looking to sale the fresh 650 engine. He don't ride hard enough to tell a difference in the power but he did say that the 650 had all the power he need.

 

Well, the OP probably bought and sold several ATVs since this was first posted IN 2008! But good information anyway...lol I did that one time too....
