Default 2008 BF 750

Hi All
I have 2008 BF 750 and love it. I have 825 miles on it and was looking in the owners manual to see when I need to service it again and found out about every 360 miles they say to General Lubricate it. Under General Lubricate they talk about using motor oil on some parts and grease on the "Throttle Inner cable Upper End and Differential Control Cable Lower End"......Do we have grease inserts for this?
Also they talk about using pressure cable luber for all the cables....Will slick 50 spray can work?

Now to my Fan. I works and comes on when I riding but as soon as I turn it off the fan shuts off. I can turn the key back on with out starting it and the fan will come on again. The manual say the fan can turn automatically on even with the ignition switch is off. That hasn't happen to me yet. I was woundering if you guys have the same issue?? The light has never came on so I'm not too worried.

Thanks
Eric

bump

good questions-- i'm new to the 08 750 also, but here is my answer to your lubrication questions: I would say any lubricant like a slick 50 spray that sticks to the metal would work well--- but the best would be a dry lubricant that can be sprayed between the cable and sheath at both ends of the cable. I doubt there are grease zerks on the cable.

My fan hasn't ever come on when turned off. I think if it is put away VERY hot, it will come on to keep a pipe from swelling/bursting-- just my rationale though. My light has come on when i got the radiator full of mud, but the fan only ran with the key in the on position. I'm def not stressing about it though because i'd rather it only come on with the key to prevent running the battery down.

Cables are lubed with cable lubers - a clamp with rubber in the middle that seals up the cable so that spray lube can be squirted inside it. Dennis Kirk has one, and your local dealer. The fan comes on to keep it from boiling over after shut-down, since the heat left over from your wild ride continues to transfer to the coolant even after you shut it off. (They don't have much for cooling fins on the cylinders to dissipate the heat.)

All of my Kawasaki VTwins the Fan would come on even w/the Key "OFF" but so far this '08BF750 does not. If the fan is on at a stop & I turn the key "Off", the fan turns off as well. The Fan never comes on unless the motor is running, at least so far on the '08BF750FI.
I've had a '02 & a '03 Prairie 650/'05 BF750 & a '07BF750-all the fans worked the same but so far the '08BF750 is different.
