Default Went to my first public ride and the Brute Force 750 was king of the hill

Of all the bikes there I would say 90% of the moded out bikes were the 750 Brute. Now I am doing my research trying to get prices and as much info as I can. I have an 02 Yahama Grizzly with no complants. Need another so the wife can ride also.
Any info on the newer models coming out. I would hate to buy a 750 and the next year they start making a bigger model.

I'm a tech and I tell you right now to stay away. At a 100 hours the belt light will come on, not that that's a big deal. If one of the 2 actuators go bad which they do you cann't go over 20mph and no 4x4. Oh ya and Kawaski says that they WILL USE OIL when plowing snow or have large tires installed. So it holds 2 quarts and only takes a little over 1/2 a quart low to reck the PLAIN BEARING bottom end.

So I would spend the money and get a new 700 grizz you'll love the powersteering.

That sounds pretty rough. I never heard any negative talk about the bike while at the ride. My friend did break a tie rod. I blame the 29 1/2 tires for that not the bike.
But. thats why Iam here to get all the info I can. Thank for the reply.

And what dealership do you work at?

And who at Kawasaki said this?

I think you'll find a lot of Brute owners here that are quite happy with theirs. Will it break? Yes, just as Honda, Yamaha and Polaris will too. Keep looking at posts here and other threads before letting one post make your decision.

Kawaski tech line has told us this several times, about that they will use oil when worked hard. Ya I'm not going to come on here and broadcast which dealership that I work at!

I'm not here trien to tell you all that other brands don't have problems cause they all do. What I am saying is if I see a machine that over and over has stupid faults like the whole belt light, no 4x4 deal well that's just BS. Kawaski won't warrenty valves that dish and rings that are worn out. This happens at 2500 miles, that is just wear they tell us lol. My yamaha doesn't requrie valves or rings at 2500.

I've been a tech now for 12 years, been to alot of schools and one of the best in our shop. Just take what I've told you with a grain of salt.

Didn't mean what dealership exactly, just what brand they sell.

Not questioning your experience as a mechanic, but say you work at a Yamaha dealership. I don't think you'd get the same type of support as a mechanic from a Kawasaki dealership would get. Especially for a warranty issue.

I have a three month old 08/700 Grizz eps. I had a hard time deciding between the Kawi 750 and the Grizz. The dealer I bought from sells both and he said the Kawi's have a difficult motor to work on. I met a guy last weekend riding a new 750. We went out for a ride and switched machines for a while, this is what I thought, the immediate low end power from that twin was impressive and I did not find it to be uncontrollable, the steering was lighter then I expected, and when I pulled in the diff lock it was still light, and found no problem holding the lever and bars at the same time. The ride was a bit firm almost sporty even with stock tires. The only dislike was once we got to a road I noticed how loud and whiny the trans was, way to much of a high pitch whine for me to get used to it. My Grizz is much more comfortable.

I have the brute 650I which is almost the same as the 750. I am very happy with it! this is my second Kawasaki. my Bayou ran flawless for years! then I wanted something bigger. my light did come on at 100 hr, as was expected according to the manual. its just a reminder for service, you don't loose power! its easy to reset yourself or take it in for the service it needs. so far this bike as been flawless too! I would think again, these quads rock and have gobs of power. they are a cadallic of quads! get her one, she will love it and so will you.

What planet are you from? I have had an '04 700 and now drive an' 06 750. The only Grizz that I seen pass me was an '07 that was worked out to 900 cc.
The two actuators that go bad are under warranty. I had 7500km on my bike before engine brake actuator went bad. The 4wd has not been touched.
I do use oil, but performance has it's price. A liter of oil every 1000 km will not bother me. I have 28" Perilli's and still can run 100 km/hr. when my wife is not with me.

You know, the idea that a bigger new machine comes out after you buy the current model does often have a trade-off. Bigger engines usually equate into physically bigger machines. A lot of guys aren't concerned, but I am concerned about the weight of my machine and the possibility of being pinned under it. A Brute is a bit harder to repair, it's a V-twin that take s a lot of room in the chassis. Oil usage? I should be checking it anyway. If they could make the Brute with a better ride and softer seat, higher compression/bigger bore (same chassis size), and maybe power steering option, it would be unstoppable versus the competition. I won't call it a Cadillac. That's a Polaris. The Brute is a Hummer H1 in full battle trim.(not that *****-assed urban H2 either). JMHO
