kawi 750 getting water in it
#1
Ive got a brand new kawi 750 brute force and i've also got 2 buddies that have the same thing as me. Weve been having alot of problems with going through water and getting water in the engine and having them kill. I got alot of water in my and i drained the oil and it was pure water. I ran new oil threw the engine 4 diffrent times. My question is do alot of people have this problem with there 4 wheelers. And how if any way do you avoid getting water in your engine? Does it come in threw the intake or how the hell is it getting in there? When i got water in my engine i was barely going through any water just hit it fast and it splashed up! What the hell do i do? I was told by a kawi dealer that he sees it all the time and if i don't get that water out my engine will be shot in six months! I need help i like going through water

As the doc would say, "if it hurts, don't do it".
Yes, water comes through the air intake as the front wheels are feeding it through. I've had my 750 for 4 years and went through water many times, especially afer snow melts in the spring, and never had water in my engine. I just go around the water or if I have to go through then I slow down enough so that front wheels don't feed water into the air intake. All machines have weaknesses and this is one of 750's. One solution might be making your own inner splash gurad front of the air intake. There is a factory one, very small piece, but that's not enough.

I have read that Inner fenders will help with this problem alot. It will help keep splash ups from being sucked into the air intake up by the handlebars.
