Default Brute force missing and noisy

I have an o6 Brute force 750 that I can't get the miss out of. I have tried plugs, coils, carbs, cdi box. Nothing helps, I put a Dynatek box on and the miss was worse. Could it be the valves need adjusted? While riding, the engine makes noise like maybe valves or something. This problem has been there since I bought the bike with 300 miles in it. Also I noticed that it will back fire sometimes when letting off the throttle. It doesn't seem to miss as bad when the bike is fully hot, but it still has that annoying miss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know the feeling. I have an 08 750 brute force. It's still brand new, got less then 20 hrs. on it.
Here comes the bad part. It's been in the shop for the last 2 weeks due to an oil leak. It was leaking from the front side of the motor.
Down towards the bottom. I just got it outta the shop on Friday, now it has a hissing noise, and periodically it will die when at a
low rpm. And i had the back fire too.

Does the bike have an aftermarket pipe or exhaust on it. If it does and it was on there before you bought it...maybe they didnt re-jet it? Popping on deceleration is a sign that the bike is too lean.....I believe....maybe check your jetting?? I'm sure someone else will chime in here as well.....Good Luck with it

The bike is all stock. It is very cold natured. After you start it, you have to let it warm up or it won't run for crap.

My BF650i runs like crap till it warms up..I think all the carb'd V-Twins do. Has the bike sat un-used for a while? It may need the carbs cleaned or the choke plungers may be stuck. You may be able to just run some good fuel cleaner(Redline SP-1 or Regane) thru a tank or two and clear it up.

I also have a Dyna on my Brute and running a higher octane gas seems to work best.
