Default brute force noise

I have 2006 brute force 650i with a very loud clanking noise in the front end while in 4 wheel drive when under stress. It sounds to me like it is slipping but i dont know enough about my machine to be able to tell so i am looking for some help.
Any info you have would help.

Drain the front gear box oil and see if any metal bits/debris would be in the oil. That is engine oil btw.
