KFX 700 issues?
I'm really needing something with a CVT. I got a line on a 2005 KFX 700 for about $3400. The guy who owns it only put about 50 hours on it before he realised, with his bad knees, he couldn't ride any more. I ride mostly at Glamis I've ridden these quads before
82 ATC 250R
86 200sx
91 fortrax
86 Warrior
99 Mojave
2002 KFX 400 (borrowed for one day ride only)
current bike
86 TRX250R
I did take another friends KFX 700 on two different rides for about 10 minutes each time. I loved it. The front end did come up on me on a flat section, and the motor seemed very warm. So much so that I had to move my leg way off to the side. I go out to Glamis once a month in the Summer when its about 95 degrees at 2 AM. So I'm use to wearing shorts when I ride then. Are these 700s normaly that hot? The one I test rode was built for racing.
Also is there a way to widen this quad? As you may know the TRX 250R is a very stable bike. I'm wondering what the learning curve will be going from the old TRX to the KFX.
Anything else I should know once I take ownership of this bike? It has been sitting for over a year. Thank you very much for any advice.

KFX 700 issues?
I looked a long time for a quad and when I rode the kfx700 I new it was the one. I have done alot to it ,but just routine maintanence is the only thing it needs. I have always worn pants anytime I ride anything so I am not sure about the heat issue on your legs. There are alot of aftermarket parts for the quad and making it wider is possible. It is an extremely powerful quad that anybody can ride and it can go anywhere you want it to.
