Default New Brute Trouble

glad your problem is ok. i have a 2006 bf650. i had the problem you had with the running rough and smoking real bad. it almost shut off but, was able to keep running. just curious to see if you were hammering on the quad when this happened. i know you said it was new so i doubt if you were. reason i ask, i was when my bf acted up. spinning in the mud ripping and tearing. my problem went away same day after i babied it out of the mud and slowly drove it around awhile. i think what happened is, i floated a vavle or something internally to suck up some oil. air box was covered in it. after all said and done my bf runs great after started.

No not really hammering it, just going pretty fast down some rough trails. I had a Prairie 650 for years and never had that problem no matter how hard I ran it. I hope to put some more time on it this weekend and see if all is well before I go thru the trouble of mounting the winch!
