Default brute force 650 valve adjusting

i have a 2006 brute force 650. after research and reading the topics here iv'e concluded i need to adjust the valves. it won't start when it's cold. checked everything. went as far as pulling both carbs. checked everything. down to valve adjustment. i'm afraid this is over my head. is it hard to do? i'm sure it's easy with the right knowledge. any help would be great. thanks.

it is fairly easy. I did it on my 05 BF 750. The hardest part was taking off the plactics to get to the valve covers. I had the same problem would take a couple mins to start and run good once warmed up. Turned out their was no play in the valves. Started right up after adjusting. I have the shop pdf for the 750 which is 53mb. Try and find one for urs search on here and kawieriders.com for it. If u want I will post up a link to mine I just have to upload it. PM me if u want a copy of the 750 shop manual.

Did you have any luck finding the specs for the valves on your 650 BF? I'm looking at the same thing.

no luck. i'm gonna have to buy the paper manual. cheapest i found was $65. what a rip off!!!!!!!!!. if it saves a trip to the dealer, i guess it pays for itself. hard to eat though. i could put that cash toward new diggers.

I wonder if the manual is on a CD? I think there is a site on ebay.
Also check out this site, it is for a V-force though,http://www.700v.com/valves.htm
