I own a '97 Bayou 220 and '92 TRX 300 and can honsestly say the TRX 300 is a much faster quad. However, when it comes to pulling a load the Bayou acts as if it also has a 300 cc engine.

 

Are you going forward or are you in reverse? My wife will run off and leave me on her 220 but she has an unfair weight advantage. She weighs 100lb.s while I weigh 200. My Prairie says I'm doing 48 m.p.h.

 

what did u mean by forward or reverse. what kind of prarie do u have i mean size.

Well, ok i have a 300ex (probably not the 300 your talking about). I've raced a 92 bayou with a cobra pipe. My ex is stock other than a k&n filter and diffrent tires. I absolutely killed him. he had no chance from bottom to top. When i got ahead of him i slowed down and drove beside him. I was in 4th gear about 1/4 throttle.

 

hey ex_master im not racing a 300 ex im racing a 300 fourtrax (its a big utility quad). Is that what everyone else was thinking too because its not a 300ex its a 300 fourtrax i dont think they make it any more.

 

Was the 220 at it's top speed though?

 

I was kidding about the forward or reverse. My Prairie is a 300 4x4 and have had it up to 50 m.p.h. a couple of times according to the speedometer. Most of the time I can only get about 45+ m.p.h. and my wife will steadily pull away from me her 220. The 220 has a Cobra pipe on it.

 

who ever said the 300 bayou runs even with the 3004trax. well i know the 220 will beat the 300B because i have raced one many times and he hasnt won yet. the 220 has a higher gear ratio in 5th than the 300B.

 

yes, he was at his top speed, this 220 has just been rebuilt. He told me he was going wide open, and i did know what you meant when you said a trx300, i also have a 300 4x4 that i will race him with soon too.
