Installing Nerf Bars - HELP ME!
#1
So I got my new nerf bars today from pro armor and they have some REALLY sad instructions. No images to help etc. I have no idea what goes where and what I need to remove. Does anyone else have nerf bars on their kfx 400?
Check out the instructions.
Item Part Name Description Qty
1 Nerf Bar Left 1
2 Nerf Bar Right 1
3 M8 Washer Flat Washer 8
4 M8 X 25mm Bolt Hex Head 4
5 M8 Nut Nylock 4
6 M10 Washer Flat Washer 2
7 M10 X 1.25 X 80mm Bolt Hex Head 2
8 Web Set (1) Left & (1) Right 1
9 Loose Web Clips Frame Web Clips 4
2. Preparation:
a) Set/Lock rear parking brake on bike, and stand bike upright so that it is sitting on the rear grab bar. Make sure vehicle is secure and will not fall over while installing the Nerf Bar..
Ummm can I set the bike back like that with gas in it, oil etc? It won't hurt anything will it???
3. Installation:
a) Loosen and remove OEM hardware from rear lower A-Arm mounts. Discard bolts, but retain nuts.
I'm lost here with the "Rear lower A-Arm mounts" why would I be removing anything from the rear of the unit?
b) Set Item #1 Left Nerf Bar in place. Loosely install with (1) Item #7 Bolt and (1) Item #6 Washer. Reuse nut removed in step A. Do not tighten at this time.
c) Use (2) Item #4 bolts, (2) Item #3 washers, and (2) Item #5 nuts at the footpeg mounts. Do not tighten at this time.
d) Slide Item #2 Right Nerf Bar onto Item #1 Left Nerf Bar at the forward mount. Loosely install with (1) Item #7 Bolt and (1) Item #6 Washer. Reuse nut removed in step A. Do not tighten at this time.
e) Use (2) Item #4 bolts, (2) Item #3 washers, and (2) Item #5 nuts at the footpeg mounts.
f) Tighten all hardware to torque specs below.
h) Install Item #8 Web as shown in Figure #1 below. Use Item #9 clips at the frame as shown in Figure #2 below.
Wow these instructions suck! Seems like for the amount of money spent they could pay someone to make some nice pictures showing exactly what to do.
*sigh*
Check out the instructions.
