Im actually building a kfx 400 from the frame up but im having trouble finding what years interchange on it.It is an 03 kfx 400,Im trying to figure out what years fit and if I can use the parts from dvx and ltz.Any help would be great thnx.

 

Hi of course the ltz will because suzuki built the bike as well as dvx . now in 05 some changes were made (frame/covers/carb) but still the basic bike 2003-2007 all should work . the changes were for zuki and kawasaki as far as the dvx I am not sure about later years I have a 05 kawasaki with 4 mods perfect bike all around good luck

 

i called a dealer today and found out that the a arms are different on the 05 from the 03 :/ so i guess i can only use parts from 03-04 [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Carbs are gonna be different in the newer ones as well.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think the A-arms are only different in the bearings. I think the size and length are the same every year up to 2008.

I remember in 2005 they went to a tougher teflon/neoprene bearing in the A-arms, which would explain why the dealer would have a different part number.

A few odd parts changed in 2005 also such as the seat latch and sub frame, as well as the swing arm set up for the chain adjustment. The 2005 also had different internal engine parts such as cams. Of course as the others said the carb was different as well the TPS was changed out, and the rev box has different mapping....several little things like that....

As far as bolt up parts, even though there were some changes, most parts will fit.
