Default 1997 Mojave issues

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site but not new to 4-wheeling. I picked up a 97 Mojave before winter and about after a month it stalled out on me and would not start up. I brought it to the local shop and they cleaned the carb and said it should be fine. This was right before winter so i only drove it a couple times because of the snow and for a few months i didn't ride it at all, but now that spring is here i finally wanted to go for a ride. About 2 miles down the trail it stalled out on me and a bunch of gas was pouring out of the drain tube and it would not start back up (this was 2 days ago). Today i tried to start it for the hell of it and it started right up with no gas coming out, i drive it around my backyard for a minute just messing around, barely got into second and when i down shifted into first it stalled and gas started pouring out again....can anyone help?

ps. it has an exhaust leak and i'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it stalling and maybe making it flood or something??

Since i posted this i have ridden it but if i don't let it get down to idle slowly it stalls out. i turn the gas off real quick and kick it as gas starts to come out, then i turn the gas on and keep it revving high.

edit-thanks for all the help everyone..... anyone at least know of any other sites i should try out?

Not a Kawi gut, but my first thought is that the carb float is struck down and it keeps trying to "fill" the float bowl causing over flow to run out. Full throttle may slow it just because it is burning more but that is just a guess.

In the future either run it every month or so during winter or drain the float bowl on the carb. Either way put a double dose of Stabil in the tank and run it long enough to get the mix into the carb. Couple minutes should be enough.

I would believe that it is the venturi that is not closing and letting fuel continuously flow, it is prolly stalling on you because it is actually flooding itself out. You need to get the carb apart again and take all the pieces apart an make sure they are clean.
