Default Freaking out!
I have a 2006 kfx 400 with rod knock......dealer wants $1200-$1500 to fix it.... ugh. i have no idea what to do...i have rebuilt my kx125 (top end) but the 4 stroke is a different story. i have no idea what to do.

Buy a service manual and do it step by step.
Make sure any machining is done by a competent person.

I have the same motor on my KLX400 (dp bike) and has had no problem. What caused the knocking problem on your motor?

I ran it out of oil.
