Default Turbocharged KFX400

Here is the Beast.

It is not quite running yet, I have the largest jet we can fit in the carb and as soon as the motor sees a hint of boost...it falls on its face and stalls out. I ordered an electric fuel pump and FPR, hopefully that oughta do it. Should be able to pull 60-70 hp out of it without blowing up

Charles at ASP ( Advancedstreetperformance.com ) Did all the work.

Here is a short vid of it. It leans out and dies

Thats crazy! I've never seen a turbo on that small of an engine. Bet once it's dialed in it will be a handfull. Is the motor stock? May be able to get even more power if you bore it to a 440.

When they say, "no replacement for displacement"...they are wrong....Its called a turbocharger. lol

The motor is stock, thats why we are sticking to low boost, around 4-6psi. My neighbor has a yfz45 who will be going turbo next if mine works out.

stock carb. with a fuel pump and a couple of boost jets. His was on alochol. It took ALOT of fuel to perform well. When adjusting the regulator he accidentally filled the motor full of fuel a couple of times. It hydrolocked with fuel and we had to pull the plug and spin the motor over to get the fuel out. Turbo quads run very well when they are right. But on the down side they can be a pain to keep in tune and on the top of their game.

Nice job!!!
Remember, if your running a blowthrough set-up, your going to need at least 2 PSI over your highest boost pressure to get the fuel flowing the correct way.

hi, ive owned a kfx400 for some time now and im constantly looking for new mods. so far ive modded pretty much everything and im starting to get interested in a turbocharger. what do you guys think about a turbocharger for trail riding mostly and a few straights from time to time? i will be using the atv instead of a car too. Yeah, its legal where i am.
