bayou 220 2x4 start problems

Default bayou 220 2x4 start problems
have a 220 bayou 2x4 motor runs as long as starter switch is held in but as soon as let off switch motor dies has anyone had this problem and what did you find

Whe you say it runs do you mean it turns over, or it runs? Have you got a spark? How long since it was last used? Ever cleaned the carb / fuel lines / filter?

it runs revvs up with throtle till let off switch lastestest update tried it agin now starts with pull rope but no starter op

Check the ground wire connection from the starter solenoid to the engine case on the LH side.

Yeah, ground or bad solenoid probably. How old is the battery?
