Exclamation 2008 650 brute tires

Just bought a new fourwheeler and was going to put 26" tires on it. I went to a tire website and found the two choices for mud lites in 26" were 26-10-12 and 26-12-12. Is this the common front/rear width for 26"? Factory's are 25-8-12/25-10-12. These just seemed wide to me, and also will the wider than factory 26" tires fit on the stock rims?

I have 9's on the front and 11's on the rear. Works fine.

I've heard the 12's are hard on tie rod ends if you like the wheelies!!

OK, slight thread hi-jack, but can someone clue me in on how tire sizes are done on atvs? If the tire size is 25X8-12, does that mean that it is 25" diameter x 8" wide on a 12" rim?

Sorry for the dumb question. I wish they would use the same system as car tires -I understand that system!

my brother just bought a 2008 brute 650 about a week ago... he just put a set of vampire's on his stock rims.. they are 26x12x12 on all four corners... he had to flip his rims because the front was rubbing the shock... no problems yet...

Found this to explain, but basically you are correct (it's not like car tire sizing)

How do I read ATV Tire Sizes?

One of the most frequently asked questions we hear is "How do the ATV Tire sizes work?" Here is a brief explanation of ATV tire sizing. All ATV Tire sizes consist of 3 sets of numbers generally separated by dashes (ex. 25-8-12), forward slashes (ex. 25/8/12), or with an x (ex. 25x8-12).

1st Number = The overall height of the tire. (ex. 25x8-12 tire is 25" tall.)
2nd Number = The overall width of the tire. (ex. 25x8-12 tire is 8" wide)
3rd Number = The rim diameter. (ex. 25x8-12 tires are designed to mount on a 12" rim)
