06/07 were the same as far as i know. The 08 is where they made the big change. The biggest and one of the best changes as far as I'm concerned is the introduction of fuel injection. Also the suspension was completely updated, it's stiffer and lower to the ground by an inch giving it more stability and less role. little thing are new hubs and super light aluminum wheels, new seat, and added storage on the front fender. it won a few of the 08 big bore shootouts.

The grips on the 09 are way to hard. After spending my first weekend gently breaking in the quad the following weekend I wanted to practice on the XC course to get a feel for what needs to be addressed for racing within the first 20 miles of the run I had worn holes in both new gloves. Grip change, Steering stabilizer, Elka's and an HMF exhaust this thing is silky smooth and pulls like a Banshee on the juice.

I had the '05,'07 and now the '08. The '08 is the best overall, more so if you like FI.
The '07 handled better than the '05 and the '08 handles even better than the '07.
All yrs need the sway-bar bushing upgrade and all yrs benefit from a Steering Stabilizer(Gibson 7-way rebuildable).
The '08 with the .4 less in gas tank still gets more miles to a tank than the carb models I had.
Throttle response on the '08 is sweet.
