Kawasaki Mojave Problems
Hello i was resently out riding my mojave and it started bogging and backfireing when i would accelerate it will start fine and idle a little ruff and high so i tryed adjusting the air mixture screw and now it got worse and now it has no power i will drive it up the street and it will bogg and cut in and out and it back fires really really loud i had the nabor yell at me saying that i was driving his dog nuts but it will not stall it just boggs down and loses power when you rasie the throttle above idle and today while i was playing around with it i found out that it runs like it is brand new when i run it with full choke it revs up with no misses cuts or backfiring but i thought if it runs good with the choke on that means that its running to lean im guessing but i played with that little damn screw all day and no matter how much i turned it or what direction i turned it it wouldnt make a difference so let me know what you guys think im up for anything because i was playing on going riding this weekend so let me know what you think i should Thanks

yea i have a repair manual its a clymer manual and no i dont have a way to check the coil but i think it is a carb problem because about an hour ago i was out riding it and it started up second kick at full choke i let it warm up a bit turned the choke off and it was idleing nice so then i drove it up the street and it had no power it just backfired and sputterd so then i put it a full choke and drove it up the street again and it had a lot of power and no bogging or backfireing

Oh,.. ok.. sounds like the needle and seat are stuck or worn. Or the float is screwed up.. might be time for a complete carb rebuild, should cure the problem. Has the carb ever been rebuilt? A good cleaning should make a world of diffrence. Good luck with it and post back how you make out. Oh btw the carb is pretty easy to remove when you have the book.

ok so today i took the carb off and disasembled it and it seem really clean but i cleaned it anyway so i sprayed everything with carb cleaner and then blew everything out with compressed air then it put it all back together put fresh gas in the tank straight from the pump and fired it up it started up no problem and idled fine but i still can rev it up with out it have a problem it still boggs but when i put the choke at full it runs just like it should
