Question Valve clearance adjustment?

I just got through with the valve clearance check on my 650 brute force. I found them to be within spec. I was wondering how many of you have either have done this or had this done? Everyone I talk to does not do it. How important do you all think this check is. The first 4 wheeler I bought (01 prarie) the dealer was very adamant about getting this done, but when I bought the 650 they did not even mention it.

Being a mechanic I will tell you it is important to do this if want a engine that operates at it's highest efficiency level especially your first valve check as it is a good indicator of how the engine is operating/running. With that said I have seen a few engines that have lasted for years without adjustment and run pretty good. Most of these engine have been single cylinders and older model quads and I would not recommend this on any twin as there is quite a few more moving parts on these and they require a bit more TLC!
